I am a registered nurse. However, I have been nursing on and off all of my life!
Let’s look at some nursing characteristics and skills needed for adult nursing according to the NHS recruitment website.
- Listening and communication
- Caring
- Judgement
- Teaching and advising
- Counselling
- Managing
These are all skills most of us use on a day to day basis, something as simple as just being a family member or friend we lightly use all of these skills.
The 6Cs of nursing are:
- Care.
- Compassion.
- Competence.
- Communication.
- Courage.
- Commitment.
